OM GROUP AWARDED SPOT ON $151 MILLION NAVY IDIQ CONTRACTDecember 23, 2020

Reston, VA (December 23, 2020) –OM Group Inc. announced today that it is one of five awardees on the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a maximum value of $151 million to manage its information technology operations.

“The NAVFAC IDIQ contract allows OM Group to expand its work with the Navy, thereby solidifying our service to America’s armed services,” CEO Sowmya Hariharan said. “OM Group began with a focus on the Army where we landed our first large contract migrating more than 150 systems to the cloud for Headquarters of the Department of the Army (HQDA) under their ACCENT contract. With SBEAS, we were able to expand our offering to the Air Force.”

Chief Operating Officer Sangita Subramanian said, “The announcement of this award is a great start to the holiday season in a difficult year. I am so proud of everyone at OM Group from our programmers and project managers to our support staff. Pulling together and adapting to all the changes this year, our team showed what OM Group is capable of achieving under even the most trying circumstances, proving we are exactly the type of partner the U.S. Navy needs.”

Mahesh Srinivasan, Chief Technology Officer, said, “Earning a spot on the NAVFAC contract establishes OM Group as a serious player in the Naval IT sector, bringing forward-looking Cloud and DevSecOps capabilities to NAVFAC. Establishing an R&D team early in OM Group’s development helped drive the culture of innovation throughout our organization. This culture sets the stage for us to investigate and incorporate the latest IT tools and technologies into our workflow which allows us to provide our customers with state-of-the-art service and exceptional quality in our end product.”

OM Group competed against 28 companies to be named to one of five spots on the IDIQ contract, which runs through August 2026. NAVFAC describes the project as “IT services and solutions through the performance of broad ranges of services across multiple functional areas, including but are not limited to, systems development lifecycle support, cybersecurity support, business systems operations and support, IT operations management and enterprise, cloud operations/migration/system development, secure infrastructure and analysis and management services.” The work will be performed at sites in Port Hueneme, California; San Diego, California; Washington, D.C.; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Norfolk, Virginia; Kansas City, Missouri; Bremerton, Washington; and Yokosuka, Japan.

OM Group leadership attributes the company’s success as a small business to its ability to establish credibility with customers by being agile, decisive and responsive. These attributes allow OM Group to be a trusted digital transformation partner; a credible source that prepares its customers for the future; and a partner who adapts, transforms and grows its capabilities by investing significantly in R&D to grow its technical capabilities.
